Ettore is a business builder and investor in internet, software, and online education companies. A proven operating executive and venture investor, Ettore’s specialties include growing companies and products from inception to scale, opening new markets, and closing transformative transactions. His sweet spot is at the intersection of investments, operational improvements, and consolidation.
Ettore co-founded a venture capital firm dedicated to investing and growing technology companies. Investment exits include online matrimonial company Matrimony.com, SVG Media South Asia’s leading digital marketing company, and Cloud Academy an enterprise cloud software digital training platform. His board of directors experience includes serving on audit, risk, and compensation committees, and working alongside company CEOs on acquisitions, consolidations, and special projects.
Earlier in his career, Ettore advised Ashmore Group a $70B UK-based investment manager on the sale of its technology portfolio companies. Ettore led Yahoo's search engine business across 17 countries in India, South East Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East growing it from zero to $36M in revenue, and he led the negotiation and the implementation of Yahoo’s search engine carve-out for the emerging markets, a transformational multibillion dollar agreement transferring Yahoo’s search engine patents, platforms, employees, and customers to Microsoft. He also launched new digital products and opened new markets for Harvard Business School Online, Instill, Digital Impact and Adaptec. While serving for the Red Cross, Ettore managed mass feeding programs for refugees of the war zones of the former Yugoslavia and the Balkans.
