Paymob is a Cairo-based electronic payment enabler that offers integrated infrastructure solutions across a wide range of payment methods and channels. The company was founded by Islam Shawky, Alain El Hajj and Mostafa Menessy in 2013. The company’s first technology offering was payment infrastructure technology for digital wallets. When the company entered in 2016, the digital wallet market was still nascent and the Egyptian population had been slow to adopt the wallet solutions. Paymob helped fast-track consumers in to the digital payment era by providing the infrastructure to Vodafone Cash, Vodafone’s mobile wallet solution.
